Mosaic gatherings are designed to be personal, engaging, inspiring, honest and life-giving. Whether you are a passionate believer or a hopeful skeptic, our goal is to create a space where you can come as you are and encounter God’s grace, where you can engage God’s Story within the scriptures and among friends; a place where you feel comfortable inviting others who may not believe as you do.
You’ll meet real people on a journey of not just knowing God but loving our city in self-emptying ways.
Why not every week?
We do actually meet every week, just not all together in one big group. We meet as small Tessera groups on 2nd and 4th Sundays in locations away from Piedmont Park Church like our living rooms, around brunch tables, patios, porches and even local parks as weather permits. Learn More
You meet at Piedmont Park Church?
Mosaic has always been a frugal collective. We share a building with our friends at Piedmont Park SDA Church, renting the building from them on Sundays (because they don't need the building that day). It's a great relationship!
What can I expect?
Our services consist primarily of three elements common to church services through the ages: singing together, listening to a message from our pastor, and receiving the Eucharist ("Communion").
The songs are generally contemporary Christian songs that you might hear on the radio or streaming playlists. There are guitars (electric and acoustic), drums, and bass.
We practice what's called an "open communion", which means that anyone can receive the (gluten- and nut-free) bread and wine (or juice).
What should I wear?
Wear what makes you comfortable at church. Some of us wear ball caps and sweatpants. Others wear button-ups or dresses. Trust us — nobody will judge what you're wearing.
What about my kids?
We aim to make church your kids' favorite place.
Mosaic Kids, represented in 4 environments (nursery, pre-K, K-2nd grade and 3rd-5th grade) is an exciting, safe and lively environment where children can discover and experience God’s love. Our awesome Mosaic Kids team provides learning experiences filled with music, games, crafts and relevant messages that will stick with children through the week.
Our goal is to make sure each child feels loved and discovers God’s love. All of our volunteers are screened and trained, and we provide a secure check-in system.
You can absolutely contact us if you have any questions.
Do I need to sign up ahead of time?
Not at all. When you come on a Sunday, we'll help you check your kids into our secure system before the service.
Do kids attend the service?
Older kids (K-5th Grade) join their families in singing the first few songs, then they join their classes for the rest of the service.
What about 6-12th graders?
We usually have a small group session on Sunday mornings for middle and high schoolers once per month. There is also a dedicated Youth Tessera group that also meets about once per month. Feel free to join our text message updates to stay in the loop.
